In the fifth round of the Armenian Premier League, Yerevan's Pyunik hosted the reigning champions, Ararat-Armenia, at Avan Stadium and secured a 2–1 victory.
Pyunik's 28-year-old Russian forward, Danil Kulikov, opened the scoring in the 16th minute.
In the 33rd minute, 24-year-old Armenian forward Gevorg Tarakhchyan doubled the lead.
In the second half, 35-year-old Brazilian forward Sandro Lima scored for Ararat-Armenia.
After four matches, Pyunik sits in fourth place with 10 points, while Ararat-Armenia has dropped to fifth place, also with 10 points.
