The 39-year-old forward for MLS champions Inter Miami (USA) Lionel Messi has announced the end of his career with the Argentina national team in an Instagram post.
Messi has been playing for the national team since 2005. With the Argentina national team, Messi became a 2022 World Champion, a World Cup runner-up in 2014 and 2026, a two-time Copa America winner (2021, 2024), and an Olympic champion in 2008.
Messi has made 207 appearances and scored 125 goals for the Argentina national team.
