In the first half, Polish midfielder Sebastian Szymanski and French forward Esteban Lepol scored for Rennes.
In the closing stages, Spanish forward Ferran Torres—who had transferred from Barcelona—scored a brace.
Spanish midfielder Fabián Ruiz provided the assists for both of Torres's goals.
