Russian player Karen Khachanov, ranked 26th in the world, failed to reach the quarterfinals of the ATP-250 tournament in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Khachanov suffered a surprise defeat to Australian Bernard Tomic, ranked 171st in the world, with a score of 2-6, 4-6. The match lasted 1 hour and 24 minutes.
In the quarterfinals, Tomic will face the winner of the match between Cameron Norrie (Great Britain) and James Duckworth (Australia).
