Kylian Mbappe wins World Cup Golden Boot

France and Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe won the "Golden Boot" award as the top scorer of the 2026 World Cup.

The 27-year-old footballer scored 10 goals in 8 matches. Argentina forward Lionel Messi, 39, took second place with 8 goals. Norway forward Erling Haaland and England midfielder Jude Bellingham shared third place, each scoring 7 goals.

With 22 goals, Mbappe became the all-time top scorer in World Cup history, surpassing Messi's record of 21 goals.

France lost 4–6 to England in the third-place play-off. In the final, Spain defeated Argentina 1–0 in extra time.
