Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, Opta’s supercomputer has updated its tournament projections, naming 2022 World Cup runners-up France as the favorites to win this year’s title.
Accordingly, France’s chances of becoming 2026 World Cup champions are estimated at 27.13%, up from 13.01% before the tournament began.
The reigning European champions, Spain, have a 22.07% chance of winning the 2026 World Cup, while the defending champions, Argentina, are given a 14.64% probability.
They are followed by England (13.07%), Norway (6.61%), Morocco (4.15%), Belgium (3.80%), Colombia (2.36%), and Switzerland (2.21%).
