Canada have advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Canadians defeated South Africa 1-0 in the Round of 32 match in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles FC midfielder Stephen Eustaquio scored the only goal in the second minute of added time.
Canada won their first ever World Cup playoff match.
In the Round of 16, they will face the winners of match between the Netherlands and Morocco in the Round of 32.
