MLS titleholders Inter Miami’s star striker Lionel Messi of scored a hat-trick for Argentina.
Messi is playing in his sixth World Cup.
He increased his tally of World Cup goals to 16, equaling record holder Miroslav Klose (Germany).
Argentina will face Austria in the second round of the group stage on June 22, while Algeria will play against Jordan.
