2026 World Cup: Sweden beat Tunisia, Ivory Coast defeat Ecuador

Sweden defeated Tunisia 5-1 in the first round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage and are the current leaders of Group F.

Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari netted a brace. Liverpool striker Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, and Wolfsburg midfielder Mattias Svanberg also scored for Sweden.

And Maribor defender Omar Rekik netted Tunisia's only goal.

In the other match of the first round of this group, the Netherlands and Japan had drawn 2-2.

In Group E, Ivory Coast beat Ecuador 1-0 and are in second place, with 3 points.

Manchester United striker Amad Diallo scored the only goal of this match.

Germany lead Group E, having defeated Curacao 7-1.
