European Individual Chess Championship: Armenia’s Haik Martirosyan shares 3rd place

The 2026 European Individual Chess Championship being held in Katowice, Poland, has two rounds remaining, the Armenian Chess Federation informs.

After Round 9, the tournament leaders are GM David Anton Guijarro and GM Nijat Abasov, with 7.5 points each.
Armenian GM Haik Martirosyan has 7 points and shares 3rd place.

Among the other Armenian players, GM Robert Hovhannisyan is also among the leaders, with 6.5 points.

Friday is a day rest at the 2026 European Individual Chess Championship. 
The penultimate round will be played on Saturday and start at 17:00 Armenia time.
