Newcastle United hosted Qarabag and won 3-2 in the second legs of the knockout phase playoffs of the UEFA Champions League.
Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Two minutes later, Brazilian midfielder Joelinton doubled the score. And Dutch defender Sven Botman netted Newcastle’s third goal.
Colombian midfielder Camilo Duran and Azerbaijani defender Elvin Cafarquliyev scored Qarabag's goals.
The English club had won the first leg 6-1.
Separately, Bayer Leverkusen hosted Olympiacos, and they played a goalless draw.
Newcastle and Leverkusen have advanced to the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
Earlier, Bodo/Glimt and Atletico Madrid also advanced to the Round of 16.
