World silver medalist Davit Chaloyan (Armenia) lost in the semifinals of the IBA Men's World Boxing Championships concluding in Dubai and settled for a bronze medal.
In the +92kg weight category, Chaloyan fought Arman Makhanov (Uzbekistan) and lost 2-5.
Davit Chaloyan was awarded the bronze medal, but he removed his medal, showing his disagreement with the judges’ decision.
Rudolf Garboyan (Armenia) also won a bronze medal. In the 5 kg weight category, Garboyan lost 0-5 in the semifinals to Hasanboy Dusmatov (Uzbekistan).
Team Armenia finished their Men's World Boxing Championships campaign with 5 bronze medals.
Earlier Artur Bazeyan (60 kg), Hovhannes Bachkov (67 kg), and Rafayel Hovhannisyan (86 kg) also won bronze medals for Armenia.
