The new captain of the Armenia national football team will be Eduard Spertsyan, the midfielder of Russian Premier League titleholders Krasnodar, national team manager Yeghishe Melikyan has said, NEWS.am Sport’s correspondent reports from the meeting with the coach.
“From now on, the captain will be Spertsyan. Not only in the upcoming matches, but from now on,” Melikyan noted.
In the previous matches of the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Armenia’s captain was Slovan Bratislava forward Tigran Barseghyan, who, however, is suspended for three national team matches.
