La Liga: Real defeat Barca

Last season’s runner-up, Real Madrid, hosted reigning champions Barcelona and won 2–1 in Matchday 10 of Spain’s La Liga.

In the 22nd minute, Real’s French forward Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring.

In the 38th minute, Barcelona equalized through their Spanish midfielder Fermin Lopez.

In the 43rd minute, English midfielder Jude Bellingham scored Real’s second goal.

In the 52nd minute, Mbappé failed to convert a penalty.

Real Madrid lead the current La Liga standings, with 27 points, five points ahead of Barcelona in second place.
