La Liga: Atlético let victory slip away

Atlético Madrid were hosted and held to a 1–1 draw by Celta Vigo in Matchday 8 of the Spanish La Liga.

The hosts took the lead in the 6th minute when Celta’s Swedish defender Carl Starfelt scored an own goal.

Atlético were reduced to 10 men in the 40th minute after their French defender Clément Lenglet was sent off for a second yellow card.

And in the 68th minute, Spanish forward Iago Aspas equalized for Celta, denying Atlético the win.

With this draw, Atlético Madrid sit fifth in the current La Liga standings, with 13 points, while Celta Vigo are sixteenth, with 6 points.
