Armenia's representative in the weight category up to 84 kg at the European Junior Weightlifting Championships in Madrid (Spain), Grigor Ghazaryan, won a gold medal in the pair event.
He completed three successful attempts in the snatch: 140 kg, 145 kg, and 148 kg. In his third attempt in the snatch, lifting 148 kg, Ghigoryan set a new European junior record. The Armenian weightlifter won the gold medal in the snatch.
In his first attempt in the clean and jerk, Ghazaryan lifted 180 kg, setting a European record in the clean and jerk.
Ghazaryan broke his own record by lifting 185 kg and 190 kg in the clean and jerk. He is also a gold medalist in this event, according to the Facebook page of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation.
With a result of 338 kg in the double event, Grigor Ghazaryan became champion of the 2025 European Junior Championships.
