Ararat-Armenia's Portuguese manager Manuel Tulipa commented on their goalless draw in the first leg of the second qualifying round in the UEFA Conference League.
The Yerevan club had played host to Universitatea Cluj (Romania). In the first half, the Ararat-Armenia players did not have time to make quick and correct decisions and became a victim of the opponent's actions, Tulipa said.
But in the second half, the Ararat-Armenia players fought a good positional battle he added, and noted that he is very pleased with the performance of his players on the front line.
The lack of time had a negative effect on the preparation phase, it takes time to become a more organized and regular team, but this match showed that Ararat-Armenia looked better, Tulipa said.
He assessed the chances of overcoming this opponent's obstacle at 50/50, and said they realized that they don't need to be afraid of the opponent, and they can win this confrontation. The second leg of this pairing will be played on July 31.
