World No. 1 Jannik Sinner made a winning start at the French Open (Roland-Garros) tournament in Paris. In the first round, the Italian tennis star won 6:4, 6:3, 7:5 against world No. 75 Arthur Rinderknech (France).
The match lasted 2 hours and 16 minutes. Sinner will face world No. 166 Richard Gasquet (France) in the second round.
The French Open has a prize fund of 56 million euros.
