At the European Weightlifting Championships that ended in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau, the Armenian team is 3rd in the medal count, behind Bulgaria (3) and Turkey (6).
In the combined event, Armenia won 10 medals: 2 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze. Including minor medals, Armenian weightlifters return from Chisinau with 27 medals. In the medal count, they are behind the leaders due to the lack of gold medals.
The gold medalists of the Armenian team were Varazdat Lalayan (450, 210+240) and Garik Karapetyan (411 kg, 185 + 226), the silver medals were won by Alexandra Grigoryan (202, 85+117), Gor Sahakyan (338, 153+185), Rafik Harutyunyan (343 kg, 158+185), Anna Amroyan (231 kg, 100+131), Simon Martirosyan (406 kg, 180+225) and Liana Gyurjyan (246 kg, 106+140).
Bronze medalists were Garnik Cholakyan (275 kg, 124+151) and David Hovhannisyan (376 kg, 173+203).
