Champions League: Bayern, Club Brugge, Benfica are in Round of 16

Bayern Munich, Club Brugge, and Benfica have advanced to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

In the second legs of the knockout phase playoffs, Bayern played a 1-1 draw with Scotland’s Celtic. The German club had won the first leg 2-1.

Belgium’s Club Brugge won 3-1 against UEFA Europa League titleholders Atalanta. The Italian club had lost the first leg also by a score of 1-2.

And Portugal’s Benfica finished the second leg with a 3-3 draw with Monaco. Benfica had won the first leg 1-0.
In the Round of 16 of the Champions League, Bayern will compete with either Bayer Leverkusen or Atletico Madrid.

Benfica will face either Barcelona or Liverpool.

And Club Brugge will lock horns with either Lille or Aston Villa.

The respective draws will be held on Friday.
