Champions League: Feyenoord reach Round of 16 

Feyenoord have reached the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, overcoming the “barrier” of last season’s Italian Serie A runners-up, Milan, in the knockout phase playoffs.

The second leg in Milan ended in a 1-1 draw.

Milan’s newcomer, Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez opened the scoring in the first minute.

Milan’s French defender Theo Hernandez was sent off for a second yellow card in the 51st minute.

And Feyenoord qualified for the next round with the goal from their Argentine striker Julian Carranza in the 73rd minute.
Feyenoord had won the first leg 1-0 at home.

They will face either Inter or Arsenal in the Round of 16.

The respective draws will be held on Friday.
