World No. 1 Jannik Sinner won his first match at the ATP World Tour Finals, the men’s final tennis tournament of the year being held in Turin, Italy.
In his first match of the group stage, the Italian tennis star defeated world No. 8 Alex de Minaur (Australia) in two sets—6:3, 6:4. The match lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes.
In the second round, Sinner’s opponent will be world No 6 Taylor Fritz (USA), and de Minaur will face world No. 4 Daniil Medvedev (Russia). In the first round, Fritz had defeated Medvedev in two sets—6:4, 6:3.
The prize fund of the ATP World Tour Finals is $15,250,000 dollars.
