The Turkish women's volleyball team has reached the semifinals of the Olympic tournament.

Melissa Vargas, the Cuban volleyball player of the Turkish national team, scored 42 points in five sets. This is the second result in the history of the Olympic Games.
The record belongs to Croatian volleyball player Barbara Jelic-Ruzic, who scored 44 points in four sets against China at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Melissa Vargas, a former Cuban national team player, has been playing for the Turkish national team since 2023.
