Two-time pole vault world champion and world record holder Armand Duplantis (Sweden) also set a new world record of 6.25 meters after winning the title at the Paris Olympics. He improved his own world record by 1 centimeter.
In the Men’s Pole Vault competition in Paris, Duplantis had secured victory with a result of 6 meters, and then set an Olympic record of 6.10 meters.
At the Tokyo Games, he had become the champion with a result of 6.02 meters.
