Italian gymnast Alise D'Amato won the Paris Games gold medal in the balance beam exercise, scoring 14.366 points.
China's Yaqin Zhou (14.100) won the silver medal and Italy's Manila Esposito (14.000) took third place.
Seven-time Olympic champion Simone Biles of the United States fell off the beam and placed fifth with 13.100 points. Her teammate Sunisa Lee, who also fell off the beam, is in 6th place with the same number of points.
