Noah Lyles (USA) won the title of Olympic champion in men's 100m sprint, with a result of 9.79 (.784) seconds.
Kishane Thompson (Jamaica) finished second, with a time of 9.79 (.789) seconds. A photo finish was used in order to determine the winner.
And Fred Kerley (USA) became the bronze medalist, with: 9.81.
For the first time, in an Olympic final of the men’s 100m race, all runners broken 10 seconds in a wind-legal race, during which the wind speed was +1.0 meters/second.
