Serbia president: It's madness when men beat women and win medals

At a press conference, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic commented on Algerian transgender Iman Khelif’s participation in the women's boxing competition at the Paris Olympics without passing the gender test.

"Imagine the disease and madness there. They rule the world. Men come, beat women and win medals. Everyone has gone crazy," Vucic said, rt.com reports.

As reported earlier, Iman Khelif had not passed the gender test—that is, the athlete was not considered biologically female—at the 2023 World Championships and was disqualified due to high testosterone levels.

But the International Olympic Committee decided this year that Khelif is a woman and allowed the boxer to compete in women's competitions.

After receiving several strong blows to the face and head by Khelif in the first 46 seconds of the Women's 66kg boxing Round of 16 bout at the Paris Olympics, Angela Carini (Italy) had refused to continue the fight. The female boxer had stated that she had never received such powerful blows in her boxing career.

Imane Khelif will fight Anna Luca Hamori (Hungary) in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
