DONETSK. – As a result of a voting conducted by the official website of Ukraine’s FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Armenian national football team and Shakhtar midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was recognized as the Ukrainian club’s top player in the first round of the current season in the Ukrainian league.
A total of 76.02 percent of the fans voted for 23-year-old Mkhitaryan.
The second was Croatian defender Darijo Srna, with 4.77 percent, and Brazilian midfielder Willian was voted as the club’s third best player, with 4.49 percent, Shakhtar’s official website informs.
To note, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has netted 16 goals so far in the first sixteen matches of the Ukrainian Premier League’s current season and he leads the top scorers’ list of the league. Next is Nigerian forward Brown Ideye, who has scored ten goals.
