Alex Ferguson, the legendary manager of Manchester United, considers it unlikely that Cristiano Ronaldo, the 39-year-old star striker of Portugal and Al-Nassr, will be able to participate in the 2026 World Cup.
"I can't imagine that. Football will become even faster and more athletic in the coming years. In addition, the space for central strikers will become increasingly smaller. In contrast to defenders, it is more difficult for strikers to play at the highest level when they are older," Ferguson said, reports SportBild.
Ronaldo had confirmed that he is playing in a European Championship for the last time, but he did not make any statements regarding the next World Cup.
