Luka Modric, the star midfielder of Croatia and Real Madrid, has become the oldest ever footballer to score a goal in the finals of the UEFA Euro competition.
The Croatians drew 1-1 with Italy in their third match of the Euro 2024 group stage, and Modric netted a goal at the age of 38 years and 289 days.
He broke the respective record of former Austria midfielder Ivica Vastic, who had scored a goal in Euro 2008 at the age of 38 years and 257 days.
