Italy faced Ecuador in a friendly match in the US, and the European football champions won 2-0.
Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the scoring in the third minute. And Nicolo Barella, the midfielder of Inter Milan, netted Italy’s second goal in the fourth added minute.
In the previous friendly match in the US, the Italians had defeated Venezuela 2-1.
Italy will play their next friendly matches a week before the start of Euro 2024. On June 4, their opponents will be Turkey, and on June 9—Bosnia and Herzegovina.
