Hovhannes Harutyunyan returned to Pyunik from Sochi

Hovhannes Harutyunyan will play at Pyunik on loan until the end of the season, the club's official website reports. The player's transfer rights were bought by Russian Sochi a month ago.

Harutyunyan played in different age groups in our academy and made his debut in Pyunik's main team in 2016.

After returning to his hometown club from Ararat, Armenia in 2021, Harutyunyan helped the team win the Armenian League title. That season, in 34 games of the domestic championships, Harutyunyan authored 4 goals and as many assists.

In the summer of 2022, Harutyunyan made a major contribution to Pyunik's historic European Cup season, where our team won the first and second qualifying rounds of the Champions League, then made its debut in the group stage of the Conference League, and won the first victory among Armenian clubs in the group stage of a European tournament. The 24-year-old particularly shone in last summer's European competitions, scoring one goal and making three assists in five matches.

Last season Harutyunyan celebrated his 100th match in Pyunik colours. In the autumn of 2023/24, the Pyunik pupil set a personal record and had the most productive season of his career. Hovhannes has 11 goals and 3 assists in domestic tournaments.

After joining Pyunik, Harutyunyan was invited to the Armenian national team for the first time and gradually strengthened his position in the national team. He was also included in the top five best footballers in Armenia, according to the 2022 voting.
