Vigen Khachatryan, head coach of the Armenian weightlifting team, told NEWS.am Sport that Armenia will participate in the European Under-23 Championship with 6 weightlifters and is going to Albania in good shape.
The championship will be held from October 16-25 in Durres, Albania. The Armenian team will spend the last training days in Yerevan before departing to Albania.
The Armenian men's national team headed by coach Vigen Khachatryan will head to the competition.
"We will participate in the European Under-23 Championship with 6 weightlifters: 73kg Armen Grigoryan, 81kg: Karen Margaryan, 89kg: Vardan Manukyan, 96kg: Ara Aghanyan, 109kg Yash Minasyan and +109kg Varazdat Lalayan.
The team is in very good shape. We've held several training camps. We are expecting good results," said Vigen Khachatryan.
The European Youth Championship will be held in parallel with the European Championship.
