The Norwegian biathlete Johannes Boe became a five-time Olympic champion. He won his fourth gold medal at the 24th Winter Olympics in Beijing, unbeaten in the 15 km total. In Beijing, Johannes Boe also won the sprint, the men's relay and the mixed relay.
Four years ago in PyeongChang, South Korea, he became Olympic champion in the individual race. At that event in Beijing, he won a bronze medal.
Johannes Boe, 28, is tied with the Frenchman Martin Fourcade, who also won 5 Olympic gold medals. In first place is the Norwegian Ole Einar Bjørndalen with 8 Olympic gold medals.
Norway leads with 15 gold medals in the overall tally of the Beijing Games. Germany, in second place, has 10 gold medals.
