Armenia’s representative Davit Chaloyan, 24, scored a glorious victory during the semi-final of the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships and secured the title of at least runner up.
In the +92 kg category, Chaloyan faced off against two-time European youth champion, participant of Tokyo 2020, Azerbaijani boxer Mahammad Abdullayev and clearly beat him 5-0.
The Armenian boxer scored a confident victory over Abdullayev in three rounds.
On November 5, Chaloyan’s opponent will be Russian boxer Mark Petrovskii during the final.
This is the first time Chaloyan is participating in a world championship with adults.
