Members of the Armenia national boxing team Hovhannes Bachkov (63 kg category), Koryun Soghomonyan (52 kg category) and Arman Darchinyan (75 kg category) held their first training session in the Olympic village in Tokyo. The Armenian Boxing Federation has shared photos taken during the training.
By a draw, Darchinyan will start competing at the Olympics in the 1/8 final, competing with the winner of the duel between Slovakia’s representative Andrej Csemez and Trinidad’s Aaron Prince. The duel will take place on July 29.
On July 26, Koryun Soghomonyan will face off against England’s Galal Yafai.
On July 25, Hovhannes Bachkov will come out to the ring and face off against Antigua’s Ryan Alston.
The opening ceremony of the Olympics will take place on July 23 and will start at 3pm Armenia time.
