YEREVAN. – Swimmer Varsenik Manucharyan and boxer Hovhannes Bachkov will be the flag bearers of Armenia during the opening ceremony of the 32nd Summer Olympics to be held in the Japanese capital Tokyo, reported press service of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia.
According to the joint decision of the IOC and Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, the national delegations will have one female and one male athlete as the flag bearers of their countries.
The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will take place on July 23.
Armenia will have 17 athletes competing in eight sports.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympics had been postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, and they will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
