Euro 2020 kicking off

The 16th European Football Championship (Euro 2020), which was postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, will get underway Friday.

The opening match of Euro 2020 will be played in Rome where Italy and Turkey will clash in Group A.

Bookmakers consider Italy to be the favorites as they give a bet of 1.50 for their win, whereas the respective bet on Turkey is 8, and that on a draw is 3.75.

The reigning European champions are Portugal, which are in the "group of death" with reigning World Cup champions France, as well as Germany and Hungary.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, however, a limited number of fans will attend the Euro 2020 games.
The European Football Championship will be held for the first time in 11 cities of 11 countries.

Also for the first time in history, 24 squads will compete for the title of the top national football team in Europe.
