Margarita Gasparyan refuses to continue competition

Russia’s representative Margarita Gasparyan failed to win the WTA tennis championship in Saint Petersburg.

During the final, the Armenian athlete competed with Russian Daria Kasatkina. In the first set, Kasatkina won 6-3, and in the second set, Gasparyan refused to continue the competition due to an injury when the score was 1-2.

Gasparyan, who is in 126^th place on the WTA classification table, scored 4 victories on her path to the final. Thanks to her successful performance during this championship, she will return to the top 100 of WTA next week.
