Margarita Gasparyan refuses to continue competition
18:39 21 March, 2021Russia’s representative Margarita Gasparyan failed to win the WTA tennis championship in Saint Petersburg.
During the final, the Armenian athlete competed with Russian Daria Kasatkina. In the first set, Kasatkina won 6-3, and in the second set, Gasparyan refused to continue the competition due to an injury when the score was 1-2.
Gasparyan, who is in 126th place on the WTA classification table, scored 4 victories on her path to the final. Thanks to her successful performance during this championship, she will return to the top 100 of WTA next week.
