AusOpen: Tsitsipas beats Nadal and becomes last participant of semi-final

World’s sixth racket Stefanos Tsitsipas became the last participant of the semi-final of the Australian Open taking place in Melbourne.

In the quarter final, the Greek tennis player outscored world’s second racket Rafael Nadal in 5 sets. In the first and second sets, the 34-year-old Spanish tennis player won 6-3 and 6-2, but in the next sets, Tsitsipas outscored him (7-6, 6-4, 7-5). The game lasted 4 hours and 8 minutes.

Throughout his career, this is the second time Stefanos Tsitsipas scored a victory in the Grand Slam tournament after the 0-2 score.

In the semi-final, 22-year-old Tsitsipas will compete with Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, who outscored his compatriot Andrei Rublev (7-5, 6-3, 6-2).

World’s first racket Novak Djokovic and Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev, who made it to the semi-final of the Grand Slam for the first time, will compete to score the next pass to the final. Djokovic is the current winner of the Australian Open.
