Luka Modric, the 34-year-old midfielder of Real Madrid and the Croatian national team, wants to retire from football at Real, Mundo Deportivo reported.
"At my age you do not build big plans anymore. I have one season left at Real, and I want to make every effort to win a title here again.
It would be great if I were to end my [professional football] career at Real, but that depends on the club. I want to prove that I can play at a high level for a few more years; but if I can't do it at Real, I will consider other options," he said.
Luka Modric transferred to Real Madrid in 2012 from Tottenham. And the Merengues, he won the Spanish LaLiga title two times, a four-time winner of the Champions League, a Copa del Rey winner, and a three-time Super Cup winner.
