Messi, Man City management agree on €700mn deal

Barcelona's Argentine striker Lionel Messi has reached an agreement with City Football Group, which owns Manchester City, Daily Record reported.

The parties have agreed on a five-year contract worth 700 million euros. Accordingly, Messi, 33, will spend three seasons at Man City, then move to New York City FC where he will play for two years. New York City FC is also owned by City Football Group.

In exchange for part of the aforesaid money, Messi was offered a share in City Football Group, but he refused because there are difficulties in assessing the shares this company.

Messi is not participating in Barca’s trainings for the new season.

Earlier it became known that the Argentine football player decided to leave "Barcelona" and informed the club about his decision. His current contract runs until the summer of 2021.

As reported earlier, Lionel Messi has decided to leave Barcelona, and he has informed the club about his decision. His current contract with the club runs until June 30, 2021.
