NEWS.am Sport continues to represent young Armenian footballers playing abroad and wishing to play for the national team of Armenia.

Ashot Simonyan, 19, plays in the second team of the French club Blois Football 41.

“I was born on March 21, 2001, in Yerevan; I play as a striker. Before becoming a football player, I was engaged in gymnastics," he said.

"I started playing football at the age of 12 at the Erebuni sports school, where I spent 2 years. Then I had the opportunity to go to Pyunik or Banants, but decided to pursue my career in France."

"In 2016, I moved to the French club US Vendome, and a year later - to Vineuil SF and I became the top scorer of the tournament U17 there."

"After that, I received an invitation from the best club in our region - Blois Football 41. In the season 2018/2019, we became the winners of the tournament U18, after which I was accepted into the second team, where I still play. The main team of Blois Football 41 is at the National 2and and claims to be upgraded."

"According to the results of the current season - which was completed ahead of schedule because of COVID-19 - I became the third-best scorer of the tournament with 4 goals in 7 appearances and was recognized as the best player in the team and re-entered the symbolic team of the season," he said.

"I hope soon I will receive an invitation to the youth team of Armenia, it will be a great honor and pride for me. I am in contact with representatives of the FFA. I may return to Armenia soon. I love my country very much,” Ashot Simonyan added.
