Mkhitaryan says he constantly monitors the situation in Armenia

Roma held an interview with the Armenian squad midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan via the WhatsApp messenger.

The Armenian midfielder spoke about the difficulties of isolation, about his son and noted that he always monitors the situation with the COVID-19 in Armenia.

According to him, it is very difficult to stay at home, but they are forced to do this to avoid a similar situation in the future.

The most difficult thing is when you live in an apartment and do not have the opportunity to go into the garden, take a walk, enjoy the beautiful weather, he added.

Mkhitaryan noted the positive side of the situation: he can spend more time with his family. “If the season had not been suspended, I would not have been able to devote so much time to my son Hamlet,” he said.

“My mother and mother-in-law also live with us, who came to Rome at the time of the birth of Hamlet, and they cannot return to Armenia in this situation,” he added.

“We constantly monitor the situation in Armenia, communicate with friends, from whom we also receive information. Cases of infection have also been recorded in Armenia, but we hope that the restrictions will help correct the situation.”

“In our free time we watch movies, but it’s hard for me to do it in Italian,” Mkhitaryan added.

“The club is in constant contact with the players. Individual training programs are sent to us so that we can keep fit in this situation. I think that we will be able to play matches already in 2 or 3 weeks after the resumption of training,” he said.

As reported earlier, despite serious financial problems, Roma are ready to pay Arsenal for Mkhitaryan’s transfer right the full amount required - EUR 20 million. In the current season, he scored six goals and made four assists in 17 Roma appearances.
