President of the Italian Footballers' Association Damiano Tommasi has called on UEFA to postpone Euro 2020, Football Italia reported.
“UEFA must take into consideration the possibility of moving Euro 2020, giving time to the leagues to reach a conclusion,” Tommasi told news agency ANSA.
“The Coronavirus problem is not just an Italian one. Serie A will continue behind closed doors, but among the players there are those who agree we have to keep going and others who are worried. We’ll take all the necessary precautions, but the players on the pitch are taking a risk every time. What makes this worse is that if one player is struck by Coronavirus, the whole squad might have to go into quarantine.”
Euro 2020 is scheduled to take place from June 12 to July 12.
