Portugal national football squad were crowned European Champions for the first time in the nation’s history.
They beat the host nation, France, by a score of 1-0 in Sunday’s final of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Euro 2016.
Portugal defeated Les Bleus with Éder’s extra-time goal in the 110th minute.
The most unexpected development of the match, however, was Portugal captain and forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury and subsequent substitution in the 25th minute into the game.
