Abramovich holds negotiations with Löw

GENEVA. – Roman Abramovich, the owner of London’s Chelsea FC, on Monday held talks in Geneva with Joachim Löw, the manager of the German national team.   

Abramovich offered the German specialist the manager’s job at Chelsea, once the European Championship ends, Tribune de Geneve informs. 

Joachim Löw’s contract with the German national team expires in 2014. And if he decides to head Chelsea, the London club will have to pay compensation to the Football Federation of Germany.    

To note, Chelsea’s now former Portuguese manager André Villas-Boas was sacked on March 4.  

After 27 matches, Chelsea is currently in fifth place in the English Premier League.

And in the first leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League, Chelsea was defeated, by a score of 3-1, in an away game against FC Napoli of Italy.
