Shakhtar turned Liverpool down on Mkhitaryan transfer – Ukrainian club boss

Henrikh Mkhitaryan wants to leave Ukraine’s FC Shakhtar Donetsk, club manager Mircea Lucescu stated.
The Romanian specialist reflected on the news concerning Armenian national football squad and Shakhtar attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s possible transfer to England’s Liverpool FC.
“As you know, Liverpool and Shakhtar are holding talks with respect to Mkhitaryan’s transfer. Henrikh wants to leave. The English offered Shakhtar the compensation payment that is stipulated in Mkhitaryan’s contract, but they were turned down. Let’s see what the future will hold.
“It will be very difficult to lose three leading players of the team, all at once. [But] now, there are players that can worthily replace them,” Digi Sport quotes Lucescu as saying.
