We have 50-50 chance in match against the Czech – Armenian national manager

By Vera Martirosyan

YEREVAN. – We have a 50-50 chance in the 2014 World Cup football qualifier Group B game against the Czech, said Armenian national football squad manager Vardan Minasyan, during a pre-match press conference on Monday, the NEWS.am Sport reporter informs.

To note, Armenia and the Czech Republic will face each other on Tuesday, in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.

“[Armenian national team and Russia’s FC Kuban of Krasnodar midfielder] Aras Ozbilis’ participation [in the match] is still in doubt; we don’t want to damage his health. There is a great chance that he will play, but if he does not play, [Russia’s FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast, or FC Ural Yekaterinburg, striker/winger] Edgar Manucharyan will replace him.

“I am not too pleased with the [national squad’s] friendly match [against the Armenian under-21 national team]. It was felt that the guys are playing against the young. But they will play focused against the Czech. Offense or defense? Everything depends on the course of the game.

“The Czech are a very strong team. If we look at the rankings, the Czech are considered the favorite, but we will strive to win,” Vardan Minasyan stated in particular.
